VP Dr. Savita Chopra visited Rotary Singer Sewing Machine Vocational Centre at Geeta Bhawan Gurgaon and met the students and Teachers on 24th May 2023. The Vocational Centre has been fully renovated and new fans were added. The Vocational Centre students and teacher have offered to stich dress for Old Age Home inmates (to be distributed on 4th June) at nominal charges as a gesture of gratitude to Rotary Club Gurgaon.
District Assembly 2023-24 was held on 21st May 2023 at Hotel Eros, Nehru Place, New Delhi. President Brig. (Retd.) Meenakshi Jain, PP Manmohan Bharara, PP Dr. Mandeep Kishore Goel, PP Dr. Pushpa Sethi, attended this event from our Club.
We are happy to share that the pride of our club Rtn Dr Mandeep Kishore Goel was pinned by DG Ashok Kantoor as Life member of ROTARY THE CANCER FOUNDATION in presence of Rtn Ajay Narain Chairman Rotary Cancer Foundation. Our heartiest congratulations for this well deserved honour.
Under the guidance of Chairman SMC PP PS Oberoi, principal RPS Ms Sandeepa Rai and Ms Deepa Nair Interact club of RPS organised a sports and familiarisation event for the under privileged children from Nayi Disha school on 6th May 2023. 70 kids plus the teachers were transported by RPS bus to RPS and interactors and RPS staff conducted sports events for them plus gave away refreshments. Nayi Disha is running two schools with total strength of about 150. They have good teachers, good furniture, computers at both locations. They need help in finding a larger place. Interaction with RPS will give exposure to the kids and the teachers.
A demonstration of Four Way Test to school staff and students was conducted during the inauguration event which was held on 21st May 2023 at GMS Primary School, Sector 31, Gurgaon.
Our club maintains the school garden saplings with trees, cleaning of garden, water facility for trees at our adopted GMS Primary School, Sector 31, Gurgaon on 21st May 2023.
Demonstration of proper way of washing hands with Rotary Song by Distt WinS Chair, Rtn. Binita Kakkar at GMS Primary School, Sector 31, Gurgaon on 21st May 2023. A play by school children on Washing Hands which was much appreciated.
Water Areators were distributed to all school children and school children did a play on ways of Saving Water. A Banner “Hum Hain Jal Rakshak” was displayed at GMS Primary School, Sector 31, Gurgaon on 21st May 2023. A play by school children on Water Conservation which was much appreciated. DG Rtn. Ashok Kantoor appreciated this programme and said that such programmes should be held in many more schools and given high publicity.
RCG completed renovation of school Pantry at our adopted GMS Primary School, Sector 31, Gurgaon. Inauguration event was held on 21st May 2023. This included new sanitary fittings, complete tiling, fixing of new doors and proper drainage facility.
RCG completed renovation of five toilets (two boys toilets + two girls toilets + 1 boys urinal block) at Rotary Club Gurgaon adopted GMS Primary School, Sector 31, Gurgaon.
